Onam Festival falls during the Malayalam month of Chingam (August – September). It commemorates the subsequent homecoming of the legendary Emperor Mahabali. Onam is a reminiscent of Kerala’s agrarian past, and is considered to be a harvest festival.Onam is celebrated with all its vigour at Bhavan’s Public School. Students and teachers were dressed in their traditional best and added to the festivity.  Pookalams adorned the school lobby. An inter-house Pookkalam competition radiated liveliness throughout the day. Various activities like Vadamvali (Tug of war), Thiruvathirakali, and the dynamic dance numbers by both the teachers and students added more colour to the jollity. The desire for reposeful contemplation came to an end with a number of melodious songs.The Principal Mr. P.P Philip in his message highlighted relevance of Onam. The Director of Administration, Mrs. Anjana Menon dignified the occasion by her presence. The Academic Coordinator, Mrs. Vichithra V.R and the Activity Coordinator Mr. Shaiju Dhamani were the mainstay of the successful accomplishment of the celebration.
