Bhavan’s Public School celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Indian Independence Day with enhanced zeal and zest. The celebration of Azadi Ka amrith Mahotsav’ started with the unfurling of the tricolor flag by Mrs. Jayasree Menon. She urged the gathering to be the ambassadors of our nation by propagating the ideals of liberty, equality and freedom.
Subsequent to this a strew of cultural events depicting the legacy of Indian traditions were staged by the staff. The notable event of the programme was titled as ‘75@Milestones of India from 1947-2022’. 75 teachers presented a short synopsis of the 75 landmark events that happened from 1947 to 2022.Patriotic songs heralding nationalism were sung in reverence to signify the importance of the day. Mesmerizing visual performances were also showcased to emotionally connect with the theme of Azadi ka Amrith Maholsav. Vice Principal Mr. Dharmaraj Kumar welcomed the dignitaries, teachers and the non-teaching staff to the function.
Mr.M.P.Philip, the principal gave the Independence Day message and eulogized the greatness of Indian culture and tradition. He also played homage to the selfless freedom fighters who had martyred their lives for the cause of freedom. The department of social science hosted a quiz competition for the teachers on the recent trends and achievements India has attained. Topaz house represented by Mr.Aljo John, Mr.Siyabudeen and Mrs.Shahina emerge the winners followed by the sapphire and Emerald house.
The celebrations were rightly guided by the Director of Administration Ms.Anjana Menon. Mr. KMS Hameed, Member Director Board graced the occasion by his presence in the program. To add hues to the event, the HR department under the premiership of Mrs. Parvathy has unleashed a graceful patriotic dance to the joy of spectators.
Activity coordinators Mr.Shaiju and Mr.Ranjeet Nair chalked out various programmes and manifested them beautifully. Mr.Mujeeb Rahman and Mrs.Deepalal faculty members of the department of English anchored the show.
