To focus attention on the upsurge of child labour, Bhavan’s Public School, observed World Day against Child Labour on 26th June 2018 with fervour. Special assemblies were conducted at all its three campuses.At Matar campus the students of grade 2 C highlighted the plight of child labourers and the efforts to eradicate it through a heart- warming skit. Headmistress Ms.Asha Shiju appealed the students to raise their voice for their rights and of those who are less privileged than them.A special assembly by the children from class II at New Salata campus marked the day with special programs such as skit and video presentation that highlighted the darker side of our society wherein some children are still neglected for getting education and forced to do works illegally. Headmistress Ms Shailaja Krishnakumar insisted that every child has the equal right to have education and the state of forcing them to do difficult works should be avoided.At Wakra Campus, students of grade three presented the theme through a skit. The skit revealed the problems faced by the children across the globe. Denial of education, lack of tender love and care, maltreatment are some of the agonies faced by the children. Principal Mr.M.P.Philip in his address spoke on the constitutional rights of the children and he asserted that any violation of these rights should be brought before the law.
