World Environment Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by Bhavans Public Schoolon June 5thin both Campus. In the special assembly conducted students in Wakra Campus through mime emphasised on the three Rs and the importance of recyclingwaste. In Matar Campus students depicted the poem of renowned poet Onv Kurup’s Bhoomikkoru Charamageetham where it talks about spreading awareness to human race that they should protect Mother Nature who has given them everything. Students in both Campus sang the Earth Anthem and took pledge to keep the environment clean, green and safe. Principal Shri M.P.Philip in his speech encouraged students to be environment friendly and emphasised on recycling of waste and renewable sources ofenergy. Headmistress Mrs ShailajaKrishnakumar in her speech spoke about the importance of the day and the theme for this year’s celebrations Zero tolerance for illegal wildlifetrade. To mark the day saplings were planted by Principal, Headmistress, academic coordinators and students.
