Bhavan’s Public School solemnized `World Red Cross Day’ on 8th May 2018 commemorating the birth anniversary of the founder of the Red Cross, Henry Dunant, the first recipient of Nobel Prize.  The celebration commenced with the Morning Prayer followed by the News Headlines and the thought for the day. The volunteers highlighted the International services introduced by Red Cross Societies such as the reunion of separated family members, Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality for our ever-changing world and their application in today’s humanitarian contexts. A speech was delivered highlighting on how volunteers work relentlessly and selflessly for the upliftment of humanity.  Students showcased splendid placards on the fundamental principles. Pinning of Red Cross emblem made the programme a sumptuous ceremony. All the performers were doubled   with mirth waving balloons motivating and encouraging the junior audience. Principal, Mr. M P Philip addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech briefing to bond with humanitarian services to make the earth a better place to live on. The programme concluded with a harmonious group singing of ‘Red Cross Theme Song’ by the volunteers. H.M. Ms.Asha Shiju at Matar Qadeem campus exhorted the students to inculcate the spirit of enthusiasm in the service to humanity. Academic Coordinator, Ms Jayashree at New Salata encouraged the students to be empathetic and compassionate towards the people in need.
